On Thursday 21st of May Headland Archaeology attended the RSK Energy Transition Cup at Charlton Athletic’s grounds The Valley, a football tournament in aid of National Energy Action (NEA), who are working to end fuel poverty across the UK.

There were 20 teams, all from different companies within RSK, split into two groups. We played 5 tough and very warm games and sadly did not make it out of the group stages, but we did manage to score two goals this time – two more than last year!

After a close-call final match, the winners were announced (Congratulations to RSK Biocensus and SES), and we all headed up to the lounge for a buffet, drinks and a raffle. Our very own Andy Norton, Kenneth Aitchison and Andy Towle were all lucky in the raffle, which was once again raising funds for NEA.

Ultimately, the event raised over £13,000 for an incredible cause and everyone involved had an incredible time. Next year we’re hoping to continue our upward trajectory, and maybe even put some points on the board!
