Andy Boucher

Andy has been working in commercial archaeology since 1986 and brings a wealth of experience to his role with Headland. He covers the development of strategy for the company’s commercial and operational activity, business planning, and helping determine its future direction; with specific oversight of the Consultancy, Contracting and Post-fieldwork sections.

His client facing role includes acting as lead on the National Highways Archaeology Framework as well as assisting Tier 1 contractors and National Infrastructure Developers in the delivery of heritage aspects of their projects. With his breadth of experience, Andy is well placed to deliver the design, implementation, budgets and outcomes for all stakeholders in Headland’s projects. Andy has overseen numerous major archaeological projects across all periods from Palaeolithic through to industrial on large-scale industrial landscapes and deeply stratified urban sites.

Andy also has an extensive knowledge of scientific techniques used on archaeological sites and is a recognised expert in geophysical survey as well as contributing to papers on the analysis of medieval diet. He has worked for both English Heritage and the French National Geophysical Research Centre and has also given evidence at public inquiries as an expert witness.
