Community Archaeologist
Jessica has over ten years’ experience working in the commercial archaeology sector in the UK and over five years’ experience in community archaeology and engagement. She joined Headland in 2021 where she now specialises in the creation of holistic engagement programmes with an emphasis on education, wellbeing and social value outcomes. She has a background in primary education and a keen specialty for delivering schools workshops and developing learning resources. Jessica has direct experience of working on both grant funded and developer-led projects in addition to running community excavations from small rural sites with a few volunteers to larger excavations at Scheduled Monuments and liaising with relevant authorities. Jessica is a confident public speaker and event coordinator, having delivered and coordinated multiple outreach events such as talks, site open days, training workshops and local exhibitions.
