Project Manager - Fieldwork
Callum has worked as a commercial archaeologist since 2010, he has worked for a number of archaeological contractors across the UK on a variety of large-scale and small-scale archaeological projects including the Dwr-Yr-Felin Roman Fort at Neath, Mingary Castle at Kilchoan, the Aberdeen Bypass Project, the A1 Leeming to Barton Project, and the Stroud Resilience Pipeline scheme.
Since 2015, Callum has supervised and run archaeological fieldwork gaining a wide-ranging knowledge of fieldwork and post-excavation practices. He has also managed archaeological and heritage projects since 2021 that included sites of national archaeological and historical significance, for example at Brierley Paddocks, West Mersea, and St Osyth Priory in Essex.
Callum joined Headland Archaeology in 2024 as a Project Manager (Fieldwork) at their Silsoe office. His role is to manage and work flexibly on a wide range of archaeological contracts involving the preparation and the delivery of archaeological results to release archaeological planning conditions. He has built up extensive experience and knowledge of rural and urban archaeology across the UK. He also has a personal interest in the Roman and Medieval periods and is continuing to develop his knowledge in those areas.
