  • T: 01525861578

Lei joined Headland in early 2022 and is now a Senior GIS Officer, specialising in GIS development and infrastructure. She plays a key role in designing and delivering scalable GIS solutions across the company, supporting both field and office-based teams.

Lei has developed a wide range of custom tools, including over 40 scripts and multiple QGIS plugins, using Python and QGIS to automate workflows, improve data quality, and enhance efficiency. She has led the development of mobile GIS applications using Mergin Maps, alongside interactive web mapping tools and HTML-based reporting systems (cross-checked with our paperless recording system). More recently, she has been involved in developing cloud-based GIS infrastructure, including AWS-hosted PostgreSQL/PostGIS solutions.

She works closely with geophysics and consultancy teams on major projects such as HS2, providing tailored GIS solutions for complex datasets and large-scale analysis. In addition to her technical work, Lei provides training and ongoing support to colleagues, helping to embed best practices and expand GIS capability across the business.
