Head of Contracting
Mike joined Headland Archaeology in 2002 and has worked at all levels of the business before being appointed Head of Contracting & Infrastructure in 2019. He has managed a wide variety of projects across Scotland, England, Wales and Northern Ireland.
Mike is responsible for the oversight and delivery of major projects, most notably road schemes, rail, and grid connections across the UK. Recent projects include Phases 1 & 2 of HS2, the A47 Wansford and Tuddenham improvement works, and the A12 to A120 widening project. Headlands Fieldwork, Geophysics and Technical Services Managers report to Mike and together form the Contracting team.
Mike operates at Director level and works closely with Clients and Headland’s Project Management teams on contractual arrangements, risk management, resource programming and delivery of complex projects. His experience in Headland’s Consultancy team prior to moving across to Infrastructure means he is used to working closely and collaboratively with Clients on the design and specification of projects.
